Janine is one of the brains behind this operation, bringing an enormous amount of experience, formidable expertise, and endless enthusiasm to RVG Law. When it comes to both residential and commercial property law, Janine is one of the best in the business; and strives to deliver nothing short of the best possible results for her clients. Sales, purchases, and lease agreements; land, buildings and negotiations; due diligence, disputes, advice, and portfolio management: It’s all part of Janine’s repertoire. Janine started RVG Law to break the mould of legal services in New Zealand, she wants to build better relationships with her clients through more efficient services. She wants to speak directly to her clients, get to know them, and simply put; give them really very good legal advice. If you’re involved in a property-related transaction, Janine can help you. She’s here for buyers, sellers, tenants, landlords, real estate agents, developers, investors, subdividers, and anyone else with a problem, query, or deal to be done.
“RVG is my chance to practice law I know people want: Easy, accessible, and clear. I used to bump into my clients on the street and they would be wearing their normal clothes and be so relaxed, but when they come in and see me they’d get dressed up and act so formal. I want them to feel comfortable when they’re working with me; we can still build robust professional relationships without unnecessary formalities.”

Commercial property and business law is Steve’s bread and butter. He’s spent 23 years honing his knowledge and giving robust, informed advice to his clients and their businesses. Now, he’s co-founded RVG so he can get them even better results. Steve’s been involved in some big property deals over the years (and some small ones too) and it just never gets old for him. He knows yields, he knows square metre rates, he knows banks. He knows clauses and contracts and what landlords and developers can use to their advantage. He’s done syndications. He looks after lots of large developers and landlords throughout the South Island, and is always keen to look after more. When it comes to starting, selling, running, scaling and selling your business, Steve’s the guy to talk to. He’ll guide you through everything, he’ll make sure you’re covered for any issues which may present down the track, but most of all, he’ll actually give you advice you can use. Steve leverages his experience and legal nous to give his clients solid answers. No fence sitting. No wishy-washy options. He cuts to the chase quickly and clearly, using plain English to offer an expert opinion you can trust.
“Good business and property lawyers give people advice they can actually use, and I use the benefit of my experience to guide people through their issues. I’ve spent years helping clients manage their businesses and commercial property portfolios, and now with RVG – I get to do it even better. Being able to develop better relationships and work under a new business framework is going to be better for my clients, and hopefully raise the bar for the whole industry.”

Office Boss, Queenstown
Michelle is the boss of RVG Law’s Queenstown office. She’s more like the backbone, actually. She makes things happen. She gets it done. As our administration professional, Michelle doesn’t just have her finger on the pulse of everything happening at RVG - she IS the pulse. Without Michelle, we don’t know where we’d be. But it probably wouldn’t be pretty. Contact Michelle for anything you need from us, she’ll sort you out.
Office Boss, Christchurch
Like Mairi, Holly is the boss of our Christchurch office. She’s worked with Janine and Emily for years and is not just our right hand woman; she’s our left hand woman, our both feet, arms and legs woman. Our central nervous system woman. You get the idea. Call Holly for anything, and she’ll know what to do.
